Test Procedures for Power Cable Fault
The cable fault tester must go through the following steps to find power cable faults:
(1) Understand the faulty cable: withstand voltage level, cable length, insulation medium, insulation resistance, buried path, and the cause of the fault.
(2) Analysis of the nature of the cable fault: use the "low voltage pulse" of the cable fault tester to test the length of all phase wires of the faulty cable and calibrate the radio wave transmission speed of the faulty cable; use the insulation resistance tester to measure the fault insulation resistance value.
(3) Select the appropriate test method: use a cable fault tester to perform a rough test of cable faults.
(4) Precise measurement of cable fault points: including the search for the direction and depth of buried cables and fault points precise positioning.
(5) Error analysis: Carry out error analysis (measurement error, transmission speed misinterpretation error, instrument error) on the cable fault test results.
